Amanda Blake

Amanda Blake, born as Beverly Louise Neill, was a popular American actress. The most prominent role she played was as the character Miss Kitty Russell on the TV show 'Gunsmoke.' She was also known for her appearances in TV shows such as "The Red Skelton Show,' 'Tattletales,' and The Edge of Night. In addition, she was a part of dozens of films, such as 'Stars in My Crown' 'Duchess Of Idaho", 'Cattle town', 'Miss Robin Crusoe'and "About Mrs. Leslie', 'The Adventures of Hajji Baba', 'High Society' and 'The Boost'. Blake was a former telephone operator as well as a passionate animal lover was an animal lover who was completely devoted. She and her partner Frank Gilbert and she were among the first to breed successfully Cheetahs. She co-founded together with husband Frank Gilbert of the Arizona Animal Welfare League. Blake was a former director of the Humane Society of the United States. Blake has been awarded many honors and was inducted into the Hall of Great Western Performers of National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum.
