She gained fame after a number of popular early roles in series. For instance, in her role in the Ally McBeal series, where she played Ling Woo the villainous character. Following a dramatic rise in her popularity, she landed roles on big screens like Shanghai Noon and Charlie's Angels. She delivered a stunning performance in the role of Japanese O-Ren, a gangster from Japan (Quentin Tarantino) in Kill Bill Volume 1 by Quentin Tarantino.
