Lee Roy Selmon has a tradition that blends family scholarship football with volunteer work in the community. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children born to Lucious and Jessie Selmon raised on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Two, football. He was one of the three brothers that participated in the football team of Oklahoma. All three of them were All-Americans. One year 1973 Lucious Jr. Dewey and Lee Roy were starters. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award as the nation's best lineman. Over the course of three seasons, Roy was on the field, Oklahoma won two National Championships. He was awarded a third scholarship in 1975, and was designated an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon graduated with a diploma from the University of California, Berkeley. Lee Roy was involved in volunteer work ten hour per week during his time at college. After graduating Lee Roy relocating to Tampa and spent the next nine years playing with Tampa's Buccaneers. There were three times he was named an All-Pro. Lee Roy began his professional career. In 1988, he was an Account Relations Officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked on the following groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. No wonder that In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce named him as one of the country's top 10 young men. Lee Roy, a 6-2-inch larger and weighing more than 256 pounds when he played in the college level as an athlete, was captain of his team for the year 1975. In 1993 he was appointed assistant director of the University of South Florida. He was named to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994 the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. In 1989 The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation gave the Distinguished American Award Mr. Lucious Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma awarded it.
